"About a year ago a question was posed to me asking the relevancy of painting. And it has taken almost that long to be able to fully answer it. Painting, for me at least anyway, is an expression on my interpretations of the world around me. Painting largely from life, it is a way of understanding and reflecting on a moment.

As I continue to develop my journey as an artist, I feel as though I have become more deliberate in my choices during the painting process. It is still very intuitive at some level though, I believe it has to be to paint in any sort of expressive way. But I have noticed a more considerate approach to colour mixes and brushstroke application, though I would say I have always had a mild obsession with colour."
